Its the discharge form your private parts.....its like dogs like to lick and smell other dogs genitals because of the smell, dogs let out an odor that only dogs can smell, and since we generally have odors that we can smell, it smells stronger to the dogs, so they are more attracted to it.

Dog's eat socks, underwear etc because it has our scent on them. Be sure you are walking your dog at least 30 minutes a day. This chewing could also be a way for him to use up some of his energy. All dogs are made of energy, and if you don't walk them this is one of the ways they use it up, yes even if he has toys to chew. Remember it has your scent on it. Also, it does not matter how big or small the dog is, they must go for a walk everyday. Not put out in the back yard to run, or play with a ball, but to actually go for a walk. He'll love ya for it even more.

my dog is a lab and he eats underwear, socks, shoes, and pillows....it is a very bad habbit and u have to break that habbit before it comes bad....also u have to be very careful that it doesn't get wrapped around there intestnical cords....if he doesn't upchuck it, contact a vet immediately before it becomes wrapped around there cords....good luck!
