I was at a dinner party once and just as I got a piece of roast beef halfway to my mouth someone asked me a question so all eyes were on me when the beef flipped off my fork and dropped right into my cleavage. I was sitting there wondering what to do and how to get the food out of my bra and since everyone had seen there was nothing to do except blurt out "I'm sorry if I don't feed these things they'll hop right out and eat off my plate!" Everyone was still laughing when I excused myself to retrieve the roast beef and everyone applauded when I came back to the table.

You need a snappy remark that will either make them shut up or laugh like crazy. How about, "Well the mud just wasn't the right consistency and I needed to water it down!"? I'm sure you can personalize a snarky remark that will do the trick.

Good luck and don't sweat it too much. If all else fails just roll your eyes, tell them it's old news and they should get over themselves and act a little more mature... only children make fun of the misfortunes of others! Do a diva turn and leave in a huff. *wink*

Poor thing! I feel for you. I had a similar experience in high school. Just moved to "snob city" FL. 4th day of school (10th grade) I almost missed the bus, ran to get to it, tripped & fell face first in the mud. I was covered & the entire cheer squad was there to laugh at me. I got up, wiped off as best I could, got on my bus & sat alone, staring at my feet all the way home. I was the butt of jokes for weeks. Then I beat the hell outta the head cheerleader & gained the respect (fear) of the school. Since I was 5'1" & 90lbs at the time, I shocked everyone. I think I'm still infamous for that.

You're just going to have to suck it up and live with it. Don't let it bother you too much. Heck, when I was in the 6th grade, I was on my period and it leaked through my pants....I had to go home and change close and go back to school. I just made a joke about it and folks left me alone. Don't sweat the small stuff!

Unfortuanatly you arent going to get people to stop talking about it for a while. So what I recommend you is to join the crowd. Make jokes about it when people bring it up. That way they are laughing with you and not at you. If that doesnt work..then I would hide my face for a while...

The very best thing to do is... Make jokes about it YOURSELF!

Laugh at it and they will love you for it.

Say, occasionally, "Well, I think it's time for my afternoon mud bath!" "I'm WAY over due!"

About peeing in your pants,...Whenever someone says anything kind of bad, just laugh and say..."You better watch it. I might just pee on YOU!"...And LAUGH!

Things like THAT, actually make you popular.

I know! I am.

Good Luck! And start laughing at yourself. Life IS funny! Enjoy it!

I agree with Tweety. Next time it is brought up, joke about it, once they realize they cannot embarass you they will stop. Just like when you finally stand up to the school yard bully. It no longer becomes fun if they are not getting the desired effect.

Dont get scared of mud it's just soggy dirt your even made out of dirt and to get them to stop just wait. My cousins friend would always meddle me and call me boo boo the fool i know retarted! i got really sick of it and i couldnt wait to leave school away from her but one day she eased up and stopped and i was fine but the trick for you to do is pretend your not offended show them your not intemidated even when you are and laugh at it yourself just say lol yea i remember that that was funny lol! do that and they wont care you just gotta learn to luagh at yourself and when they frget remind them a bit just a few times and laugh and the will forget even sooner!

Laugh at it too and say "yeah I know, now THAT was a bad day!" Make a joke out of it too, laugh it off. The sooner you join in with them, they'll think you're a great sport and they'll move on.

oh crap !! thats horrible.Sorry that happened to you !!I think the best way and maybe only way to stop the teasing would be to act like it doesnt bother you in the least anymore and ppl will lose thier amusement of it pretty quick. good luck !! Or you can laugh at yourself and stop feeling bad about happen to anybody.
