Yea, you're too young. I wouldn't get it. I've heard way too many scary stories about them. Although they look pretty a lot can be going on inside the body. There are a lot of infections that occur daily. Some people get stomach aches and don't even realize that it's their belly piercing that is infected and then it becomes an internal thing and spreads. I'm not trying to scare you because I was once interested in belly rings myself but have decided against it. I am 21 now, I wanted it when I was 16 and completely changed my mind when my friend years ago came to my house with it. I was shocked when i saw so much blood coming from it going down her pants. She did not even know she was bleeding, for some reason that really scard me and i have not wanted it since lol. Of course I am old enough to get it now but don't want to. Also another reason I don;t want it b/c I do plan on having a baby someday, when I get pregnant I don't want that there or take the risk of an infection that can cause me not to get pregnant (yea i think too crazy huh?) LOL. It's like a tattoo, they are pretty now but once you get older it becomes ugly. Same with belly rings LOL. Eh, don't get it.

YES. YES, YES. It hurts. I had it done when I was 18 and remember it like yesterday.
They use forceps to pinch the area and hold it, that hurts a bit, then they use the hollow needle to pierce which is a combo between liquid fire and sudden nausea. Afterward, it aches. Literally aches, for days. And you have to keep touching and turning and twisting it to keep putting the solution on it. I literally got nauseous every time I did it.
I am also a big wuss.
I took it out about 4 years ago as I grew tired of it. And there is a small scar. If I pierce anything else I'm gonna have to really work myself up to it.
Good luck

It hurts like a *****...for about 5 minutes. I've had mine 10 years and hardly even can tell it's there after the intitial pain of the piercing and one week of soreness. Just keep it clean and use quality jewelry and it won't get infected.

well i would wait, but it pinches and is a bit sore. All piercings and tattoos hurt, cant change that, but some hurt more than others, belly button, not so much IF YOU TAKE CARE OF IT. you should read up on the risk of infections and the consiquesnces, it is NASTY

I didn't think getting my belly button pierced hurt that bad at all. It's a quick pinch and that's it. The pain is after you pierce it. It's really tender and can get easily infected. Danyelle

From expirience it is one of the most painfull ones you can get.. ive only had 1 done that beat it.. thats was my c***. My nipples husrt the same... but, its a different kind of pain/sensation.. That one is more like "aww, those are my nipples".. and the belly button is a thick tissue that is hard to get through.

nope it doesn't hurt. i got mine done when i graduated from high school. they said count to three and it was done. clean and painless. though for a few weeks afterwards it hurt when stuff rubbed up against the piercing, but nothing you can't handle. but yea you should wait a few more years to get it done. and don't get fat, cause it's not cute to see a belly piercing poking out of someone's fat! haha

I had mine done and only felt a pinch. It was over quick but you really have to take care of it afterwards so it doesnt get infected. I am very glad I got mine done!

YES it hurts!! I almost passed out and I'm not the "passing out" type. And stayed pretty painful for a few days. Worth it though :)
