I sell items on ebay regularly and I ship them from my local PO usually via First Class mail. Well, about 2 weeks ago or even more, I shipped about 7 small packages, First Class, all going to different places across the US and not one of my eBay customers have received there packages. Why in the world is this? I've asked the PO and they have absolutely nothing helpful to say. First Class mail takes about 3-4 days to be delivered and after 2 wekks not one of my packages have been delivered? What the heck happened to them? What should I tell my customers? None of them purchased insurance because the items were under $10 so I suppose they didn't feel it was necessary. I do not have a tracking number for any of the packages either. I am just clueless as to what to do. Could anybody give me some advice as to what to do? And does anybody have any suggestions as to what could have happened to 7 packages going to 7 different states all over the country? Please! Help!

Do you have your receipts from shipping the items? The PO doesn't offer a tracking number unless you specifically request it, but they can usually track first class packages anyway. The results are not guaranteed, but I have had to do this before.

If the PO doesn't find them, you have two choices. You can provide the mail receipts to your customers and politely explain that you can't do anything about the PO losing their mail. Even with the receipts, it is possible that they will blame you and leave you negative feedback.

The other option is to make some sort of offer to each of them. Provide the receipts if you have them so they know it wasn't your fault and offer them a replacement or a full or partial refund. This is more likely to save your feedback rating. While it may be costly to do this now, it may be more costly to lose the positive feedback because it may mean lost customers. Many EBay shoppers are very picky about a good rating.

Once you have that taken care of, you will want to avoid this in the future. Some ways to do this is include insurance or tracking fees automatically in your shipping charges or use a company like UPS that already includes insurance and tracking in the shipping price.

Do you have the receipt showing you shipped this packages??? You should have been given that when you shipped the packages no matter how they were shipped. If you don't even have your receipt, I'm seeing refunds to 7 people in your future.

You can also up your shipping to cover the .45 for delivery confirmation. Its a small price for a peace of mind.

I sell on eBay and I inform the buyer if they don't want insurance then I can not be responsible for items in shipping .. No refunds as is ... in your case to save face I think I would return their money and eat the loss .. you don't need the negative feed back on your eBay account....Its hard to over come...

Why is the world are you posting this question, expecting an answer from Yahoo Answers? You need to contact an official representative of the USPS, and if necessary the Postal Inspectors. Both of those links are on the USPS homepage at the very bottom. And next time pay the 50 cents for the tracking!

I've been carrying mail for 27-years. I couldn't even begin to guess what happened to your parcels. My recomendation to you is, in the future, use Delivery Confirmation when you mail your packages. It's only .60 cents. You pass that cost on to your customers. State in your eBay ad that .60 will be automatically added to the shipping cost for Delivery Confirmation. The extra .60 will not deter potential costomers.

If I were you, I would contact local USPS. Let them to know the situation and they might help you. Also notify all your buyers what you are doing and even refund them first before they leave any negative comments... Good luck.
