Wow - instant flashback at this question. "Sultans of Swing". Have to remember when it originally came out disco was the rage. Awesomely complicated and uniquely arranged song. Brilliant. Also, someone mentioned "Skateaway" - yes, another brilliant piece. "She let a big truck graze her hip" as the other poster commented - excellent line. The whole song is outstanding. There also is a rare piece from the band that I've always loved that they composed for the ending of the movie "Local Hero". If you've never seen the film, do. It is a truly quaintly beautiful movie, humourous but gentle, with a touch of magic thrown in. And, you get to hear Mark Knopfler/Dire Straits music.

Lastly, a very special honourable mention for the haunting "Down to the Waterline." Beautiful work and a great opening song for the album.

Sultans Of Swing! I fell in love with that Claptonesque Stratocaster guitar sound the 1st time I heard it.

Sultans of Swing - used to listen to it on BBC while I was living in Jordan, made me think there was something good in the old world.
