It depends on who it is. I have said that now is not a very good time for me. I'm not feeling well (now that you're here) Some people need help or need drug money. It all depends if they're repeating this behavior. You need to be honest yet gracious. Hopefully they're not packing or hiding from the law or a rival gang. I've been through this and it can make you ill. If they're religious it's not the worse thing that could happen uno.

If it is not a detective for the police department or a CPS worker and you do not want them there politely ask them to leave. If however it is one of the 2 above be as polite as possible and very careful on how you answer any questions. IF at all possible have a recorder to record the conversation.

Rule 1: don't let them in. I don't care if it's raining, snowing or 106 degrees. Don't let them in.

Rule 2: tell them how sorry you are that they came at this inconvenient time, because you would really like to spend time with them, but it's just impossible. And, it's impossible because you just can't. Give NO OTHER explanation.

Rule 3: express your profound hope that they will let you know in advance the next time they are in town, because you always like to see them, but (and do Rule 2 again, while all the time doing Rule 1).

If they come by alot
ask them to call next time that you are busy and may not be available
If they are someone you really like then they will not mind

or next time pick up your keys and say you were just leaving to run some errands to give you a call and you can make plans

First.. Pump the shotgun. Generally you never need to get past this step as it frightens most. If for some reason the uninvited guest sticks around fire about 5 "warning" shots into their face.

They will never come back.

This has happened to me a bunch and this is when a white lie comes in handy.....
Tell the people you'd love to visit, but you were getting ready to hop in the shower as you've got to be some place in 1 hr....
Or I've also pretended to have a horrible headache (but you've got to be a good actor to do this)......
If you've got a good view, just don't answer the door, but you've got to learn to be completely still......
I hate it when people other than family or my best friend does this!!!
Good luck!

be polite, but FIRM. Tell them that you cannot accept company, but that if they call you, you can set up a time for them to come by. Honesty is the best policy with this one and if you sidestep this you can have 2 bad outcomes, they say and you have to deal with company you do not desire and they may continue to show up unwelcome.... and dont wait

Let them know that you are glad that they stopped by but that you have plans right now and that it is not a good time. Set up another time for them to drop by when it is more convenient.
