As one with experience, the answer is yes. But as another answerer put it, "it feels bad, but good at the same time".
Don't do it just to do it. Prepare for it. If the woman you love is willing to do it then it will likely be one of the most pleasureable experiences of your life. It was for me and she and I are ready to repeat it. We don't do it often as I don't have to "have" it like that. I much prefer the "normal" way of having sex, but I do like having the option of doing it this way.
If it's something you want to try, do it. Don't regret NOT doing it.

Although I don't know first hand, I would think so. A strap is a replica of a male penis, so if it hurts by using "the real thing" I would think using a strap wouldn't be much different..

no if you are prepared for it lots of lube and a patient partner are a plus it can be very intamite and make you feel a real closeness to your lover its about trust.
