I know what you're going through. Practice every single chance you get and when you can't practice, review your music in your head. Look for phrases or sections of the music that repeat as this will help you memorize the form of the piece. If you do this, you should have the bulk of your solo memorized in a few days. There will probably be some spots you'll need to work on, so focus on them as they arise. Try to have it all together at least two days before your performance so you won't be nervous and forget everything you learned! Hope this helps. Good luck!

Memorize by pattern. Go thru the music and find out where the composer repeats themselves. Mark the sections.

Divide the music into sections and memorize 4-8 measures at a time. After you memorize a single section, then memorize section 2, then practice 1 and 2 together, then 2 and 3 together, then 1, 2, and 3 together and so on until you have it down.

Good luck

take the music 4 measures at a time. Memorize the first 4 measures, then the second four. Then, add the 1st 4 to the 2nd 4 measures. Repeat as necessary

I will say practice is the best option but of you are not shure that you can do it, try placing a paper on the back of the instrument with tape (i supose is a guitar) and write the notes that you have more troble with . But only what is nesesarie because then you will want to put the hole song and it will be hard to find the part of the song thaqt you really need. But still I will go with the practice until it hurts.

IF you are playing an instrumental music solo try playing thru the music and make it fun, add funny things to it like funny words something thats easy to remember to think of the music. I'm a music major and a Trumpet Player and one of the things I do is tap my foot and move my fingers to the beat.. Its different for different people so what works for me might not work for you, but its a good try..Good luck and tell me how it goes

break it down. memorize a couple measures. play them over and over. then move on. once you get about 2 lines, make sure you have that all under control.

another helpful idea is to memorize backwards. play the last measure. then go the last 2, then the last 3. so on and so forth. it helps in the learning process to not have to play the entire song straight through. you learn it in a different order, so your brain doesnt think of it as once piece than another that you must memorize. it thinks of the song as a whole and it's much easier to remember
