Of all the countries in Asia...JAPAN is the BEST.
S Korea isn't bad but you'd worry that sooner or later NK is going to start some ****. I wouldn't want to live there.
China has some nice spots but for the most part is dirt poor in most areas and only so-so for tourism. Most Chinese would have you believe that China is spectacular, but after living there for 2 YEARS, I know that isn't true.
I've lived in Japan and I like it alot. Its alot like Mnhattan NYC. Very calm, very attractive, very clean and very inviting.

it depends on best what??? I had a great time in Vietnam we stayed in Dalot the weather was 70- 80 the whole time its a high elevation and you can touch the clouds it was cool and breezy it was fantastic. I have a friend in Japan right now he thinks it is fantastic...both these places are reletively safe and fantastic, but what is your question refering to when you say best...
