You need to start a regular lifting routine. Strengthen your legs and arms as well as your abs and you will notice a huge improvement in your shooting skills. I'm a girl, 6' tall and i play forward. When i first started playing basketall, i couldn't make a three-pointer for anything, but i started a regular weightlifting routine and now i have a huge shooting range. Try it... it worked for me!!

Every time you shoot start close and slowly work your way back. Eventually you'll find your range increasing and hopefully your midrange will still stay fine
I had my midrange shot down but then I was stupid and decided I needed to learn to shoot 3's so all I did was shoot 3's all the time. Now I've got this flaky Kyle Korver thing going on where I can't hit my mid range at all anymore and hitting a couple threes doesn't nearly make up for that. You need to make sure you can judge all the ranges rather than being able to knock down threes and then accidentally overpowering and airballing from 8 feet away
No offense to Kyle Korver if you're a big fan, I don't really follow him too much

Well if you are only in middle school, just give it time because you don't have enough muscle to consistantly shoot long range shots great. Wait until about sophomore, perhaps freshman year and you should put on enough muscle to work on it without only using legs. If you are already there, I don't know what to tell you except you are shooting it wrong from long range, either with your release or you are fading away.

Practice, practice, practice. Also, improve your upper body strength by doing shoulder presses, pushups, pullups, and bench press at the gym. The ball doesn't magically get there, you've gotta put it there.
My problem is accuracy, but I always nail the backboard on my 3s.

increase your arm strength
thats what extends your shot
also work on your leg strength, because you jump in order to shoot a long shot right?
and be sure to have a good form.
I practiced with a bad form, and I ended up with a screwed up shot and got packed alot
so b sure to have good form
