Here are some REALLY good, and very inexpensive ways to treat most acne at home. Try each method (unless you’re allergic to the ingredients) until you find one that works best for you. Good luck =) BTW, I know some of these may sound bizarre but try them…what have you got to lose other than the acne!!

1. Put toothpaste on your acne before going to bed. (Make sure it is paste not gel). It should reduce the swelling of acne noticeably.

2. Dab egg whites on your acne and leave on for 20 minutes or overnight. It’s supposed to pull the infection out of the blemish.

3. Wash acne infected areas twice a day with warm salt water. This reduces oils in the skin and helps to dry the acne up without further agitation.

4. Use ice on acne before going to bed. This works best on pimples that have not yet formed a head. It reduces swelling and helps to prevent scarring.

5. Wash and dab acne with cotton balls that have been soaked in vinegar. Let dry; do not wash off immediately.

6. Place strawberries leaves over your acne and the alkalinity will help to reduce the swelling.

use Noxema anti-bacterial foaming face wash. It kills bacterial (obviously) which is what causes acne. Wash your face 2 times in a row, 1 time doesn't always get rid of all the dirt and oil that clogs your pores. Pat your face dry and then apply a thin layer of Clearsil Ultra benzoyl peroxide lotion to your face. If you are giong outside at all use a face sunscreen with an spf of 20... Nuetrogena works really well. The face soap also improves the texture and gives your face a nice healthy glow.

I've use proactiv and it's not a good as it seems. All it is is benzol peroxide (2%) which in my opinion isn't enough and the lotion is too greasy. You aren't missing much by not wanting to use it. It made my skin worse.

I also sugguest using Noxema Benitone Clay mask 2 times a week. It keeps your skin tone nice and shrinks pores.

if you can feel a pimple coming up, then use Clearasil Daily Acne Control. i have the tinted one but if you have really light/dark skin, or if you prefer no tint, then you can just get the clear one. i have it and it works really well. it is 10% benzoyl peroxide.

if you can clearly see the head of the pimple, then DON'T SCRATCH AT IT. put 2 fingers at either side of the pimple and push in. it should pop. when it does, wipe the stuff away and put neosporin on.

also nutrogena deepcleansing facewash helps.
also exfoliate (nutrogena, clearsil) once a week.

It depends on whether it is actually acne or just pimples. Acne is a caused from a certain kind of bacteria and must be treated with an antibiotic if you want to see results. Otherwise, for normal teenage breakouts...well I very rarely get pimples but I think it is because I don't mess with my skin much. I do not wear makeup, I do not wash my face other than splashing water on it, and I do not put lotion on my face. Everyone always compliments me on how nice my skin is and I really do believe that the more you mess with your skin, the more problems you are going to have. Good luck :)

I have very sensitive skin and I am very prone to break outs. What I have found that works for me whenever I get acne is drinking lots of water, stay away from soft drinks completely, and cut back on the sweets. Also, a face scrub like Swiss Formula apricot scub twice a week with Clean and Clear cleanser and cooling toner is good. You also have to moisturize after you wash your face to keep it from peeling and flaking, even with oily skin. Hope this is helpful!

Wash your face 3 times a day. Get a lemon juice and a cotton swab and lemon juice and rub it on your face at least once a day. Avoid sweets in general, touch your face as little as possible - do not lean your chin on your hand either. If you get sweaty wipe your face with a cloth or tissue, do not use your hand.

Also try some relaxation exercises, stress tends to cause acne. Perhaps some herbal tea can help or St. John's Wort.

I used to have some acne, I still do the same regimen each day. once in morning and once at night. I was my face with a clean cloth with dial liquid or the walmart brand of dial liquid, then I wash with Clearasil Ultra daily face wash with salicylic acid. there also another one in a pump I can't remember the exact name but it is Clearasil, I used that and like it better but they don't have it where I live now.

Use neutrogena, its great for your skin.

Keep your skin very clean, and I also suggest an oil free lotion/moisturizer (if you overdry your face your skin makes up for it by making more of its own oil, leading to more acne)

Drink lots of water & take vitamins too.

Another brand of facial cleansers to try - Burts Bees. (if not sold in your area check out their website www.burtsbees.com)

If the acne is severe and the above doesnt work, then consider proactive.

Here are two things you can try and one SHOULD work. NOTHING worked for me, but I put 100% tea tree oil on it and by the end iof the day it was almost gone. It put it on again at night and it was gone come morning.

I also heard that putting egg white on the pimple at night can help it go away.
