I wonder if the people at the "top" like what they do or if they're just harder minded about their decision making. The two ways to go are to say either 1: I love shoveling s--- all the time, or 2: s-- shoveling is what you have to do to make it these days so I'm going to do it.

Which do you believe in, and which do you do? (if they're different)

I work as a CNA/STNA and I am a nursing student. I believe that work should be half fun and half sacrifice..

I love what I do, and yes..there is alot of sacrifice..
Really tough question you have here..

Wow, you must have had some really rotten jobs if you think those are the only two alternatives.

I enjoy my job -- mind you I'd prefer to be independently wealthy, but that's not going to happen. Most people try to find a position which allows them to get up in the morning with a smile on their faces and a willingness to face the day without suicidal thoughts. People who reach the "top" are usually just more dedicated to their work than the rest of us. They're willing to spend less time outside of the workplace in order to reach their goals. Most of us try to balance work and real life.

i consider both, work should be continuous sacrifice and lots of fun to achieve full satisfaction for my personal goal in life.

continuous sacrifice, its mandatory to get a good job so i can be of assistance for everyone who needs me.

lots of fun cause i enjoy my position, i feel proud when i turn in at night cause i accomplished variety in one day.

im all around in my career but i know where i stand on whatever decision i make, its one of the requirement to be one in my position. a lot of people depend on my response, and its definitely not thinking about saying the two ways you have indicated above.

that will be against my belief and too irresponsible for me to even say or think that way. im well trusted and i earned that through all the years i've worked for my company..

Find something that you are passionate about. Your passion will be rewareded over time. Surround yourself with good people and learn how to deal with those that you don't care for on a professional level. You can't be good at something you don't enjoy and if you love what you do and enjoy the people you work for/with, you don't see it as a sacrafice...

Someone once said "Find a job you love, and you will never work another day in your life." and I totally agree. I have had higher paying jobs that I HATED and lower paying jobs that I LOVED. The trick is to find what you love and go with it. I never 'work.' Its all an extension of me and my life. Good luck.

redundant question.... in order to survive you have to love what you do and be good at it.
