He told him if you headbutt me there will be 500 questions on yahoo answers about it. We might even beat the “who is going to with the worldcup record” for repetitive stupid questions.

We will never know what Materazzi said to Zidane unless Zidane tells us. There's rumors that he called him a terrorist, there's rumors that he insulted Islam and his mother and sister.
Whatever it was, I can imagine it was really hurtful because of the reaction from Zidane.

Materazzi claimed that he didn't call him a terroirist, he said he doesn't know what a "terrorist" is, come on, my 10 year old sister knows what that is. He is just being an idiot
and very immature. I don't blame Zidane for headbutting him, Zidane stook up for himself, he did apologize for his act but he said that he doesn't regret what he did.
I really don't care what anyone else says, but Materazzi is the idiot and the immature one. He deserves the headbutt from Zidane and so much more.
It's sad that Zidane will end his career like this, but he is one of the best players on the face of this earth and he will be always known for that despite his headbutt.
You can't go back in time and change anything, what happened, happened.

Zidane himself has said that Materazzi never said anything about his ethnicity, or called him a terrorist or anything like that. Instead, what Materazzi did say was something very insulting about Zidane's mother and sister. Materazzi is a stupid dumbass and a disgrace.

zidane claims that matterazzi said sth about his mother n sister that he could not tolerate. but anyone remember that before, zidane was the one to provoke first by saying to mattz, "if you really want my shirt, u can have it after the game."

This was said with very arrogant manner, which i believe u can picture it easily. This has been acknowledged by zidane too, although he paraphrased it to more decent words. but we know how could that kind of comment being said right? ^^ at least not with an angel's smile.

Then mattz said sth about zidane's mom and sister, which again i conclude as provocation vs. provocation. Mattz provoke by pulling zidane's shirt, although i can assure u that this is what other player will do to close-marking other player, esp in world cup. zidane provoked by saying arrogant things. Mattz again provoke, saying things abt his family. well then headbutt. he can provoke back or just go away but he didn't.

I think that's what actually happen. an eye for an eye. but provocation vs. headbutt. wow.. i think red card is always supposed to be there, if one man really lacks of sportiveness like that..

If zidane defense himself by saying no ref were seeing the incident and really wants to appeal against that, well... may be he was not the same zidane we all once appraised. rule is just a rule and i've longed for so long for FIFA to make video-replay acknowledged, there has been soo many faulty decision we can improve that with the video right..

and what his mother said about mattz, if it's true... that's really can't be tolerated. aren't moms supposed to support their son without damning other's son? well.. that's all i got to say thou.

oh noooo not again.... we had that days ago....

anyways: only zizou and matrix know what has or has not been said. world press and people against italy say, that matrix said to zizou:

-version 1: i f***ed your sister
-version 2: you're a son of a b***h
-version 3: you're a terrorist
-version 4: go back to africa where you belong
-version 5: f***ing muslim

zizou said in his press conference at canal+ (french pay-tv) that what matrix said was nothing against his religion or his ethnic origin, but it was against his family (mother and sister).

in the mean time matrix (as per the press) said that he did not know what a terrorist was and that he had lost his mother at the age 14 (or 15) so that he would never say something against a person's family. also, zizou's mother (still as per the press) said that she wanted matrix's balls on a silver tablet ...

in the meantime rumors in the press and y!answers community were spread that zizou would loose his golden ball and italy would loose their title. zizou's lawyer wanted a rematch of the finals because the red card was obviously decided through video evidence which is still not allowed by the FIFA (does FIFA stand for F***ing Idiots F***ing A**holes, btw?!?).

anyways: as per FIFA, both, matrix and zizou had to meet at FIFA HQ on july 20th to argue about what might have happened or not. matrix has agreed that he said something against zizou's family, so he was sentenced to be banned for the next two matches and he has to pay a fine (dunno how much...) for provocatory behaviour. zizou was banned for three matches for palpability during the match - but, as the poor guy is retired now, FIFA (still the idiots and a**holes...) turned the three matches in three days of social work and a fine that is lower than 5000 euros as far as i can remember... as far as FIFA's decision can be trusted, zizou will keep the golden ball and italy will keep their title - no rematch!!

my own opinion: i love zizou, but as the world class football player that he claims to be, he shouldn't have reacted the way he did and FIFA's decision is a scandal!!

i totally support my compatriots and all italy fans that go nuts at the moment and want a clarification of all zizou-failures (all headbutts, yes all, the one agains matrix was not his first one, whatever he said to the ref from argentina or uruguay - hijo de puta <- guess this needs not translation) and all calls against italy that were severe punishments (de rossi banned for 4 matches, totti, uefa euro 2004 vs. poulsen from denmark etc. etc.)

VIVA L'ITALIA - FORZA MATRIX!!!
