I also experienced this problem. Also, I had a bleeding problem associated with Depo. They try to sell it's effectiveness with the fact that you can lose your period all together. Imagine my surprise when I NEVER stopped mine. I bled for 6 month straight and became very anemic (a condition people often have with heavy blood loss.)

I would like to recommend to you that you should get off of Depo, as I gained 65 pounds in 6 months on it. There are a few pills that do not cause weight gain, talk to your doctor. Also, since the Depo, 3 years ago, I have struggled with getting the weight off. (Some still remains...) I would like to urge that you get into excercizing now, and it should help you get it off early.

Hope this answer helps... and good luck!

Yes!! i was on the depo short of about 2 years and experinced alot of weight gain about 65 lbs...its very hard too loose the weight too!! If i had to take birth control again i would NOT go back on the depo shot!! I would take the pill or maybe even consider the ring...Good Luck!!

Get off that Depo. It will make you gain weight and keep gaining . Depo, if you look it up is a horse tranquilizer. I have heard it does bad things to your body. If I were u , I would get birthcontrol pills. They r the best and you have light periods. Good luck!!!

Yes I gained a lot of weight from it. Also it stopped my periods and I haven't had one for 5 years and have to get checked now because it can cause infertility and messes up your hormones. Don't ever take it again. Its not worth it.
