I remember way back when I was going through that scary time period called puberty. The thing is, hun, that a lot of girls are going through this with no answer whatsoever, and so often it is either to embarrassing or even forbidden to talk to your parents.

You have already answered your question both ways... This is due to being in between woman and child. (Isn't this exciting?) You are definatly in puberty, and if you have never started your period you should consider carrying some very thin prepakaged pads with you, (Always is the very best...) and because they are so small folded in thirds, they are very unseen in a pocket in your purse.

When I started mine, I had a very embarrassing thing happen to me. The pads were just starting to be made in prepackaged wrappers, but they were literal pillows compared to what we have today. I was in junior high and had started the day before this happened. I had to carry one in each front pocket of my jeans, because i didnt carry a purse. I was asked by the teacher to come up to help her pass out papers. So i gladly did this, as I loved being called on. The "pillows" made their way out of my pocket, without my knowledge, and the teacher held them up and asked who they belonged to. I was mortified, so I did not reply. I waited until the end of the class and went up and told her I they were mine, but I waited for everyone to clear out of the classroom first. One boy waited outside the classroom to see if someone claimed them, and when I walked into the next class they ALL knew. I responded to the one who had waited that he was just jealous that he had not started puberty yet, and at that rate he never would.

I hope my answer helped, and I am glad you posted on here, because it is easier to get a straight answer from people annomously. Anyway, Good Luck to you, Dear, and I wish you the best!

The first signs of puberty in boys and girls in hair growth. This has nothing to do with when you will get your period. Usually 1 to 2 years after the start of breast growth is when your period will come. Notice I said usually. Check out this website or look for others to help answer other questions you might have about these changes in your body.
