It's a better name than Quisenberry or Saberhagen. LOL

No that is definitely not a good idea. Maybe if later on you find out that he's a good hitter and fielder like Brett was and there is the good chance that he is going to be in the Major Leagues and possibly the Hall of Fame, hopefully on the first ballot, then you can use that as a nickname. But, NO not as a first name. I totally agree with your wife.

No. Don't name a child after a person in sports or the news. You never know what might happen to him. He could be involved in a scandal. Choose a nice family name instead or just go with Brett.

I think it's a great idea. George Brett was a great player and is a good person. And when your kid goes out to play t- ball you can put a bunch of pine tar all over his bat. That would be hilarious! Just kidding , I think it is a good name.

Why? No! What if it's a girl? No really, can you imagine when your child is like 10 years old. All of his friends will be ringing the doorbell saying, "Can George come out and play?". Then they'll give him all kinds of nicknames, like Georgie or Georgie Porgie! Think of names that other children will think of! Just think it over! Discuss it with the wife! Then agree on a name! (50/50)

This is so funny! My husband loves George Brett and when I found out I was having a boy a few years ago, my husband tried talking me into naming out son that!! You two should talk sometime.

Anyway, I told my husband if he bought me a BMW we could name our son that. And guess what I'm driving..............

A Toyota. LOL. Congratulations to you and your wife!

I like it as long as he stays away from the pine tar.If its a girl you can name it Georgina Bertha. Also give him two middle names. George Herman Brett. Maybe can call him Babe.

Unless your baby is going to turn 50 on his first birthday, George is not a very yummy name. But that is only my personal opinion.
