Overinflated ego because they are annoying and it's hard talking to them because no matter what they think they are always right even when they are wrong.

I don't know of anyone getting rich treating runaway egos, but in the areas of depression and low self esteem, there are millions to be made year after year; therefore, I would say that the overinflated ego is a bigger danger since there is so little help available, and too few people so inflicted looking for help. Personally, I would rather have a healthy ego than no ego at all.

definitely a low self esteem. if you suffer from an overinflated ego the worse that can happen is that, at some point, you realise (or you are told), that you are not so great and you fall down from where you've climbed yourself, seriously injuring your pride. but when you suffer from low self-esteem you can't even get yourself half the way of the height the overinflated ego has reached. so you practically miss out on everything great you could have done in your life but never dared to.

It rather depends.

Low self-esteem can be a symptom of something much worse, like depression. This can have extremely damaging effects over time.

An overinflated "ego" -- or too high self-esteem, as you meant it -- can be indicative of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. This is a problem, but often not as bad of a problem as depression.

Low self esteem is worse to the person going through it because its a slow mental torture that one has on themselves and affects just about all that they do and tend to have rocky relationships because of it..

The only people and overinflated ego hurts is the person that has to listen to their garbage of "HOW GREAT I AM" stuff..

Same coin; two sides. Both the ego maniac and the I am no good are suffering from low self-esteem. They manifest it in either heads or tails. The I am no good guy is seeking validation through caring souls affirming that he is the greatest since sliced bread if he allows them in. This by far is worse because it is many times accompanied by fear of social situations. Fear has torment. Getting that affirmation is tougher for the I am no good person. They tend to be suckers for scams and crazy philosophies becauses they seek affirmation. They will take it wherever they can get it. The I am better than you guy is seeking validation through being better than anybody else. He tends to be very competitive. He will be an insufferable competitor that has to win at all costs. Winning validates him. He may even be famous and rich in the end. Let's face it, in today's society what you do has greater value than who you are. In the movie Rebound, nerds play basketball, and against all odds win State. Now they are cool. Those without talent are pushed down, and those with talent are glorified. It is only when we are content with ourselves and have no need to compete or compare that people around us begin to respect us.
