1) Joseph Addai will have the most productive season, replacing Edgerin James in the Colts offense.

2) Lendel White will get alot of opportunity in Tennessee especially considering the fact that now Chris Brown wants traded.

3) DeAngelo Williams will make an impact with the Panthers, who can't seem to keep running backs healthy and usually have Nicky Goings starting by week 14.

4) Reggie Bush. This depends on the health of Deuce McCallister. Don't forget, the Saints aren't a good team and Bush has to prove that he is physical enough to be a 3 down back in the NFL.

5) Laurnce Mauroney, Patriots. Corey Dillon might be done based on his late season fade down the stretch last year. Mauroney came out of Minnesota which has a good pro-style rushing attack that produces NFL ready running backs, i.e. Marion Barber.

Without a doubt it's Reggie Bush. Second best would be De'Angelo Williams. Unfortunately for Bush, DeAngelo Williams is coming into a better situation and might have a bigger impact as a rookie running back.

Dude above me shut up u obviously didnt watch college football to see how good Bush is. Bush was the heisman winner not Williams. Sure Bush's team lost in da national championship but what crappy bowl game did Williams team make it to? On anotha note this is my top 3 cuz i wanted it dat way based on ability and not situation.

Reggie Bush Clearly the best athletically gifted rb watching him play was like watching Vick play qb a couple of seasons ago.

Deangelo Williams great back made it happen on a low profile team reminds me of warrick Dunn with his speed and small size.

Lendale White great powerback and led Usc in career tds in only 3 seasons while sharing the ball with Bush!!!

I think Laurence Marooney is overrated, he was a back who ran behind the nations best run line and was mostly just north and south while I dont like Joseph Addai being that he could be the next Fred Taylor talented but cant stay on da field!

There are quite a few that could make an impact immediately.

1. Bush
2. White
3. Addai
4. Maroney
5. Williams

All are exceptional RB's and all will probably be starting or getting heavy work loads by the middle or end of the year.

who was the best college runner makes no difference in the NFL. There is an old saying, "A good line can make a bad back look good; a great line can make a good back look great. The greatest back in the world can not make a bad line look good." Everyone of the backs coming into the NFL must have good blocking up front to be worth a hoot.

The best is no question Bush, but he might not have the best stats of the top five. The best overall are Bush, Williams, Maroney, White, and Addai. The top five stats will probably be Addai, Maroney, Bush, Williams, and White.

Hahah, I love how people ignore DeAngelo Williams....he was the 4th all-time NCAA rusher in college. Reggie Bush is all hype...that's all he is right now...Williams has no hype to live up to and a team that needs him, he's going to improve fast and become a fantastic back.

No doubt Bush has skills, but he doesn't deserve all this hype yet....his team lost to Texas even, obviously he's not a one-man team like Vince Young is....
