Honestly it seemed to me like one of those "tries too hard to be artsy" type movies that everyone acts like they like because they think they are supposed to. I mean, it had it's moments, but all in all it was......boring. The acting was horrible, as well as the story.

Just my PERSONAL OPINION. Does anyone share it? And all you hardcore fans of the movie, feel free to get as pissed at me as you want, I don't mind. :)

Haven't seen part 2 so I can't judge it. In fact, it will probably be a few years until I see part 2. I probably won't watch it until someone forces me to sit down and watch it with them.

I agree - everyone I knew was singing 'Bizerker" and I was thinking, why is this so not funny??? Mallrats was one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, Dogma rocked, and Jay & SIlent Bob strikes back was good - if your already a fan, but clerks 1 was as suck a$s as chasing amy and jersey girl -Kevin smith is just a hit or miss kind of director/producer, writer

It's true, i thought i was the only one who couldn't stand that movie! And I love Kevin Smith!!!

The dialog was far too fast, and the actors almost couldn't keep up with it...so they didn't have time to act, so much, as to just speak the words. Couldn't stand it. Kinda like fingernails on a blackboard.

But I figure maybe if i read the screenplay, as a book, it'd be way better...

Wonder if there is one out there...

I liked it
but do not want to see the new one because it is too big budget.
and the jokes were done in the first one.

do you like only big budget movies? then you should steer clear of low budget ones because you know you won't like them.

if you are an adult, dont let anyone "force" you to watch clerks 2
you have rights, after all

artsy?~~That definition never crossed my mind for a moment/ however, the next time your cat goes flying into a wall in slow motion and time stops~~try to video or digi-cam that interesting event/ in my mind that would qualify as artsy.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!!!!!! - The so-called movie sucked!!!!! And, actually, the only real memory I have of that movie is the profanity which I don't mind but it was so excessive.
