Because they show no respect for themselves or their employer. To me its the same as if the men came in with ties and no socks. It is very unprofessional, and many clients do mention it, but some employers are afraid to put it into dress codes. A common mistake is to use the word, pantyhose, or stockings.
The proper wording is hosiery, and there can be no repercussions with that demand. It encompasses pantyhose, stockings, thi hioghs, knee highs, ankle hi's, and socks of all style. Once that is established, the rest will be covered by the general dress code of appropiate.

I think central heating and the trend for going bare legged is to blame. Also it is quite expensive to continually replace tights or stockings. They never really perfected the 'no ladder' hosiery did they? Your question is very grammatical and gives the impression that you are of an older generation who would not have dreamed of going out without their hosiery. However I agree it is not correct business dress to have bare legs, most will benefit from good hosiery.

Bare legs can look just as good as legs wearing hosiery. So get used to it because you will see it more often.

I totally support (no pun intended) your position. Women do look better and more professional when they are wearing a business suit with pantyhose. And they know that. Yet, more and more are not. I can only conclude that comfort is more important then how they are perceived by the opposite sex.

i HATE wearing hosiery. I have what i call "thunder thighs" and no matter how big i get them they are not comfortable. But don't they have this new spray on thing so that it looks like you are wearing them? Thank god for that!

In general, if i wear a "business" type skirt I do wear hose. I don't think it is necessary. I am just a little more secure about my look that way.

Because nylons are often uncomfortable and can be very hot, especially in the summer. Often, comfort comes before looks because you are going to be spending all day in the outfit.

Because they can! I work with a woman who has very pretty legs! I have never seen her wear pantyhose or thigh high stockings. She does not need them to make her legs drop dead gorgeous!

it is no longer thought improper for women to not wear hose. even in casual business attire. they say the more layers you have on the more chance you have of a yeast infection. especially in the summer...it has to do with heat. yeast infections are gross. i probably gave you more info that you wanted...but hey you asked.

We don't care what you think, nobody is asking YOU to wear pantyhose. Try them for just an hour or so and you will never ask this question again.
