when a player is bought or sold to a club that is not in their home-country, do they have to full-out move to that new country and live there semi-permanently??

just curious cause i cant think of a single club that has 100% of players that are originally from the country in which the club is located.

They have to apply for permission to work in the other country via the club that signed them, which means they will have to apply for a Work Permit visa for whichever country the club that has signed them is based in (or in the case of some, see if their ancestry can get them a passport and citizenship for the counrty they will be living/working in). If they get a work permit it is limited to the length of their contract, although it can be extended - if they can get a passport through ancestry, then they will either become a dual citizen if their home country allows (which most do) or give up their native citizenship if their home country does not allow them to hold dual citizenship. When signed by a foreign club, a player will settle down to live in that country and buy property; of course if they are sold then they will move on. If they get a Work Permit for the UK for example, after living there for 5 years they can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK. You mentioned before that you are an Argentine who has been living in the US for the last ten years - so a footballer would have to go through a similar process to you to get a visa/working permission, and in some cases eventual citizenship of the new country.

You know I've always wondered that too. I mean during the WC I saw many people who were on different home teams but were on the same club together so I was wondering how that happened. I think they move to the country during the club season and during the other games...they fly there...although how do they practice right? See Michael Ballack is moving to the Chelsea club but he still plays for Germany. I'm just as confused as you are Lola llol.

Hey Lola,
Not so silly a question at all. I have always thought that they would have to move to the country for which they have transferred to. I imagine that they keep their homes in their own country to return to in the off season or any time they have off. Then again Beckham seems comfortably to slip between both, so maybe it is a personal choice.

determining to purchase and advertising 2d hand (i.e., used books) is fairly plenty criminal in India. Your chum can get into the challenge of determining to purchase for and advertising used books, with none hesitation. With each and every of the final.
