Babies are babies, they will cry and they will have fits, every time they can. Usually you don't set too high of standards until they baby is about one. They still don't understand that much at 8 months. Let her kick and scream, ignore it and eventually she will see that if she wants something that crying isn't the best way to get it. Good luck!

Eight years ago, I had the same problem with my daughter. After consulting my mother and several others, they all had the same suggestion....let her cry! I know it seems mean and is also hard to do, it works. When she starts to have a fit simply ignore it and as soon as she realizes that Mommy isn't giving in, she'll soon stop.

She's trying to get a rise out of you and get attention. My 10 month old does the same thing. I tell him no, and just repeat no when he reaches again for something. Eventually he catches on what 'no' means and off he goes to something else.

It is a temper tantrum. She wants things her way and she thinks that if she does the tantrum she will get her way. Don't give into her tantrums and just let her be when she throws them. If she sees she isn't going to get any special attention from doing this or get things her way she will eventually stop doing this.

It is also possible that she is teething, and gets frustrated and grumpy because she can't express to you that she is in pain.
Babies get tired and grumpy sometimes. If she always behaves this way while sitting up, it is also possible that she doesn't like or isnt comfy in the position she is in.
Above all babies need to feel safe and to be nurtured.

Without speach that is the only way to communicate anger and frustration. The only thing you can do is ignore it.
