Oh boy I've been here. I fell for my best mate and it ate me up for ages. I just had to be honest with her and tell her how I felt. Yeah, she was pretty shocked.
But we just celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary.
Be honest. And if the answer's no, let him know your friendship can still continue. Nobody minds being loved.

wow, u'r in a deep one! so this guy is one of your best friends, but you also feel sexually attracted to him, and from this you decided that you love him. good for you and a good thing that you came out in the open.
now. this guy knows that you love him, but his only answer is to talk about another girl. most probably, he still considers u his friend and finds it natural to open his heart to you. he might not have the slightest idea on how much he is hurting you.
there is also the slight possibility that, knowing you love him, he might try to make the most out of this situation and he is making up this other girl just to see how far you would go. but if he is doing that he is not really your friend, is he?
in both situations, the best thing you can do is confront him directly. tell him you want him to be your boyfriend and request a yes or no answer. if he's really your friend he will tell you the truth.
as to how to make him want you... I'm not too sure what to say. basically, you could try to seduce him (i.e., get him to want to have sex with you), but that would hardly produce any love from him... :(
so... just try to be really sincere about your feelings and your needs, make sure he understands you, try to understand his own, then make a decision together. BUT! if he truly loves the other girl, pls don't get between them! it would only hurt the 3 of you!

Oh my god I have the same thing going on with my daughter she has fallen for her mate and they are such good mates that he tells her who he likes etc.... I really feel for her as I do for you as there is nothing worse than having feelings for someone who doesn't feel the same way.
My guess is that he does like you but if the relationship is anything like that as my daughter and her mate then he is too scared to loose what you have as no matter who or how you put it, if you are close with the opposite sex and end up going out and separate you never get back the close friendship that you first had....... Could be worth keeping it babe as good mates are sometimes hard to find, but then again if you are that close then just tell him and ask him what he thinks of you???????

I wouldn,t try reading in to what he may/matnot be saying. He is one of your best friends, thats okay, as best friends also have space.
I would try & not see him so often, as he always knows what your doing, how would he think if he did not see you for a while. He may contact you to see if your okay, he has to miss you & your friendship before he will realise what he could lose
It will be hard for you, but be strong, I think it will work, but you cannot tell any friends what your up to, or else they will warn him, but have a reason for not mixing, new hobby, something you can talk about, so he will be interested
Goodluck

You dont make him want you, you make him realize that he lost you. You need to play the friend more and then he will start questioning what happened to the love you had for him. He will stop mentioning the other loves that he might have. It is hard but dont let on anymore that you love him.

He clearly doesnt want you, so stop hanging roung him- keep away from him altogether, and if he comes looking for you, you might just have a chance- if not, forget him and get on with your life- dont waste a day!

he loves you as a friend, maybe not as a companion or girlfriend. Except his feelings for you, you have been friends for all this time, and to end it over because he dont want more, is just stupid.

you cannot MAKE him like you. since he's talking about his crush all the time, i guess that is a sign that he doesn't like you the way you like him. sorry.
but you should tell him it's rude to talk to you about it.
he should know that it hurts your feelings
