I have a 175' Artesian well that sits about 40' from the house. Everything is located outside around the well..the tank and all that other stuff. The tank is a 20 gallon welltrol. Lately the pressure seems to be getting lower and lower. You can still take a descent shower but it is mainly the kitchen sink that is affected by the low pressure. I have a faucet filter that will take almost a minute to fill a glass of water. I don't want to add larger pipes as that would be to much hassle. I was thinking of some kind of pump that could maybe increase the pressure. Thanks for any help.

Check the pressure tank maybe it needs more air in it there is valve on it just like a car wheel. It has to have the correct pressure of air to work.

If you have old cold steel piping it may be clogging. Especially if the pressure is dropping in only 1 part of the house. First try taking the screen off the bottom of the faucet in the kitchen. At the end where the water comes out. There is a screen that unscrews. It maybe clogged.

mike you can put a submesible pump in a artesian well. i do it all the time.what you want is a Grundfos constant pressure system. basicly it eliminates all the clutter from around your well and puts everything in you basment/crawl space/utility room.the whole system takes up about as much space as your pressure tank.I would put a new water line in from the well to the house unless its only a couple years old.The constant pressure system give you city water pressure in the country.

it's been awhile since i have had anything to do with wells. the first thing is how old is your system. there are two things i can think of. the first is your pressure switch. it may need to be adjusted.the pressure switch usually is gray with two wires running into it. it's about2 in. high, 2 in. wide and about 2 1/2 to 3in. long. to adjust it you may have to take the cover off. make sure you shut the power of. the possibility would be the pressure pump. your cheapest thing to try first would be the pressure switch.

take the faucet filter off...maybe IT is clogged...it is a filter after all and prone to slow down from the sediment

figure out where it is slow by trying different faucets

check for clogged pipes before buying pumps

Water Pressure booster. Must hook up to power source, of course.
My landscaper installs them. He says they cost about 3 or 400 bucks and money well spent. Everyone he installs them for is a happy camper!! I am planning on getting one myself!

May need to add a pump. Also if you are not adept at plumbing you may want to call someone and have your pipes checked.
