For recreational swimming Pembrey beach is good, as it's shallow and the water is warmer than most other beaches. For distance swimming, try between Saundersfoot and Tenby at high tide.

Becareful. Thirteen beaches failed to pass the water tests.

It has to be the wonderful, clean, sandy beaches of The Gower Peninsula, which is situated to the west of Swansea.
