You always find a way to blame Bush, don't you? It's amazing just how much power you give the man considering how much you hate him. You know that traffic jam you were in yesterday on the way home from work? Yep, it was Bush.

Neddie,

A very good question considering how responsible religion is for most if not all of the bloodshed throughout history.

According to the Bible, there is a very simple answer. The Bible teaches that Satan the Devil poses as "an angel of light" and has misled millions into following his teachings rather than God's. The apostle John showed that Satan's influence is so extensive that "the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one" according to 1 John 5:19. Hence, Satan has promoted religious systems that on the surface appear to be holy. They have a facade of religion, but their true condition is exposed by the evil fruitage or conduct they produce. Instead of helping to solve mankind's problems, religion actually becomes part of the problem.

Yes! Isn't that such a sad question?
We humans think we have the mind of GOD and are willing to kill to prove it! It IS a sad state of affairs that we find ourselves in. History is so full of humans who killed to prove they are right, forgetting that GOD gave us free will, and wanting to take that away.
The saddest part is, we do all believe in the same GOD. Are we all wrong?
Id there is a devil, an adversary, then this fallen angel must love that we are fighting among one another! Maybe this is the WAR, and the devil has infiltrated out very core of fighting
May there be peace and understanding!

They all worship the same God, but they think God believes different things. The Christians believe that you must believe Jesus was your savior to be saved. Muslims believe that Jesus was just a great man and that Muhammad was the last and greatest prophet of God. They also don't believe in the father, son, and Holy Ghost as Christians do. The Jews don't believe Jesus is the savior and don't believe Muhammad was a prophet. They believe in the Torah.

Why are all the non religious doing the same! By the way have you said or did anything to any member of your peer group that was humiliating, ugly, not nice or just plain outright evil?

Do not look and criticize the other with the speck of dirt on his coat and the splinter in his glove while you have a wooden plank in your eye and the mud of intolerance dripping from your hands.

Why?

People fight about and over and because of greed, stupidity, stubbornness, selfishness, ignorance and revenge... notice there are no nice words in there? If anyone is actually fighting for a good cause... you can bet some tyrant or another is the reason behind the need to fight.

Just because a religion claims to be good and true doesn't make it so. Actions speak louder than words.

That's got to be the question of the century. My fear is that,
Bush is on the road to doing the same thing. All of his 'holy'
laws are based on His religion, not mine. Now, he's going
to let Bible study in schools - that's really great. Now kids will
be fighting over who's religion is right.
You know my next statement - Disturbing.

Getting back to the Middle East - I mean, what the heck is in
their Bible? Does it say it's good to kill those who don't agree?
I can't imagine anyone's Bible condoning killing - in fact, I think
most Holy books encourage accepting one another.
Do these people really read their holy books?
Judging by their actions, I doubt it.

It's not about religion. It's about Power.

"Organized" religion was a way of controlling those who were not a part of the ruling classes. If your belief system is more powerful, you control more.

Now, I'm not saying that God doesn't exist, but the fighting "in God's name" stuff is just a bunch of BS. After all, they all claim that God is on their side, but this is simply a way to get more followers and more power.

this is the problem with all religions .NON of them teach love without hate good without bad and life without death .so i say the real terroist is a man who spreads the word of god .MANY false prophets and leaders will arise .SO some truth has slipped into the bible but finding the truth among so many lies is difficult for most and there fore should be banned for the sake of all mankind and our future .
