Yeah they will work. But you will experience a 1.5GB/s bottleneck. Even so, you won't notice it unless you are running RAID.

One of the reveiwers nailed it:
"Pros: SATA speed and simplicity of connection; affordable; next generation speed and performance....

Cons: Only new motherboards and computers use the 3.0gb SATA data speed - you may need to jumper this drive to go back to 1.5gb speed.... More »

Other Thoughts: SATA is a great idea, long time in coming. Unfortunately, the initial technology (1.5gb/sec) is a bit of an albatross around the neck of next generation drives like this. They have to be jumpered (ugh) to communicate at the "legacy" speeds. SATA also is a little less standard outside of Windows and some OS X systems."

the hdd is a SATA 2 300 the motherboard is a SATA 1 150 it is backwards compatible so it will work, but a better choice for a hdd is a western digital raptor twice as fast check the specs

being that the system board has SATA connectors (the red ones), and is a P4, and the drive is only 80GB, I would say yes.
Make sure you get the SATA connectors either with the drive or the motherboard.
