I see so many references on here on YAHOO, that Islam is the largest religion on earth. Is it really?

Nope it definitely is not.
Christianity has approximately 2.1 billion followers. Islam has approximately 1.3 billion followers.
Before 2001, Islam was the fast growing religioin, but unfortunatley for Islam, thousands of followers are now turning away from their religion due to the violent reputation they have worldwide.

Islam is the FASTEST growing religion on Earth,
But not the LARGEST yet ..
Although studies say that in 2025, Islam will become the WORLD's number one religion, it will become the largest, because a huge amount of non-Muslims are converting to Islam every single day.
Only in the USA for instance, an avarage of 70 people are converting to Islam every day, which makes it about 5000 every year.

No. I'm a new Muslim. Islam is the largest GROWING religion, numbers of people joining it are increasing. It's the second largest (19%-22% of all the world).

It's suposed that Christianity is the largest in the world, but I know we are the largest growing and more people are converting. Cartographers do not know what every person in the world's religion is, so the charts you see are just estimates. For all we know, Muslims could be the largest religion in the world.

Islam is absolutely the most popular religion. It has 1.1 billion (yes, billion) adherents and Catholicism is second. Christianity is a generic term for not one religion but for many. Many people think (including those that edit Wikipedia) that Christianity is one religion, it most definately is not.
