I am faced with a little dilemma, my friend throughout the school year is no longer my friend, and now there is a job opening at the company i work for and I know he would be perfect for it. But, I haven't told him because he asked me to stop emailing him and I have respected him on this. but, I feel bad both for not telling him about a really great job opportunity and the company is in desparate need,

and I feel bad for considering emailing him when he doesnt want me too. Also, I am not sure if that was a spur of the moment thing cuz he was mad and didn't really mean it or not.

background info, he had crush on me being of school year, then by the time i was single and liked him back, he liked me only as a friend or so i am guessing. So, that makes things so much more complicated than just a friend who is pissed off. Out of respect I am more leaning towards not emailing. thanks in advance for your advice.

one more detail, he normally wouldn't contact me first to apologize, before he would wait for me and then say "oh i was just joking". but has never asked me to not email before....thanks so much for your answers though. I will try to see if i can contact a mutual friend....

Easy solution: mutual friend. Get someone else to tell him about it. He may not want to apply because you're there, but at least he has the info.

Slightly more difficult solution: talk to him. Send him an email or whatever yourself. Tell him about the job and that you think he'd like it and have a good shot at it. Since he wanted to sever contact, just tell him that you don't expect any response and just wanted to let him know.

No idea which would work better, but it's nice that you're still thinking about him after all this.

You have a unique opportunity to show that you can be a "true friend". Tell him about the job.

That sucks, but I think it's best not to email him. If he didn't mean it I would expect him to email you and say so; that's what I would do, anyway.
