"Cindy"
You know,

"I wish I were an apple,
A hangin' on a tree,..."

"Git along home, Cindy, Cindy, Git Along home;
Git along home Cindy, Cindy,
I'll Marry you someday"

How about your own song? Pick a melody you already like to sing...anything you know well enough to let it be subconscious, then put your lown lyrics into it! I've written some really good s**t doing this,and then the musicians just change the melody, drag th rythm and it becomes an new song!!! Try it. Even a beatles song, or something well known...just let youself go and make it your own!!

Any song is a good one to sing, if you like it. There are so many that I like to sing, that I could never name them all. I love songs from the 50's to the present.

Soprano - Theater pieces If Someone Like You (Dr. Jekell and Mr. Hyde), I Could Have Danced a Night ( My Fair Lady), Greensleeves in the key of G#Minor,
Arias - Ave Maria, Se Tu Ami? (Italian), Ich Leibe Dich (German Aria)
Just Plain - Killing me Softly, Redneck Woman, It's a Little to Late.
Secondly, No matter what is written if there is a song in your heart sing it, don't be afraid of it cause if you don't let it out it will hurt alot worse.

I think it depends on what your going for. If it's for a show or competition and your trying to leave a mark...I think either Cole Porter or Gershwin is the best way to go. I sang "Every Time We Say Goodbye" in a Cole Porter review in high school and I got pretty good reviews. It's sad...but if done right it'll leave the audience awestruck :) Also..."someone to watch over me" is a great song. Think of the girl in Mr. Holland's Opus. She did it beautifully. Break a leg!!

If you enjoy the song, then enjoy singing it...perferably at the top of your lungs!!!!

I'm always singing along--in the car, in the kitchen, in the shower even...and I'm not a star quality singer, but it doesn't matter because I enjoy it.

Right now I'm singing "Light My Fire" in my mind because my radiator is broken and it's damn cold :P And it's a fun song too.
