First of all, calm down. You do no good by panicking. Second, a week and a half isn't that big of a deal. She is considered full term a full two weeks before her due date. Third, have her call her doctor. Watch for her to have contractions and if she does, start timing them. In the meanwhile, call around to see if anyone can give you a lift. Your main concern right now is infection. She shouldn't bathe or put anything inside her down there now that her water has broken. Get her to the hospital. They'll do a check to make sure that her waters really broke, and if they have, they will probably admit her. Some places will actually send you home, but that's not very likely. If she doesn't go into labor in 24 hours they will induce her to lower the chances of infection. If she goes into labor before you can get a ride, and the contractions are less than 5 minutes apart, call 911 (or the emergency number in your area) and tell them what's going on. Note when the contractions started, how often they are, and how much pain your girlfriend is in (they usually ask on a scale of 1-10). They may want to talk to your girlfriend to see how well she is coping.

IMPORTANT: If for some reason labor progresses super fast (you actually have less than a 5% chance of this, from what I've read) and she gets the urge to push, tell her to try concentrating on breathing or panting. This will help to delay delivery until paramedics can arrive.

Good luck!

First of all....Calm Down.....the baby won't come right this minute. See if a neighbor can drive the 2 of you to the hospital or call a friend or family member. Call the hospital and see if they offer some type of transportation. You can also call a taxi, if they are available in your area. If nothing else is available, call 911 and request assistance. Good Luck and Congrats on your new baby.

Calm down.Anything after 38 weeks is full term. Call and freind or family member ask them to give you a lift to the hospital. She needs to be checked by a Dr to make sure her water has really broken. Good Luck and Congrats!! If all else fails take a cab or call 911 or your local emergency number.

Number 1: CALM THE HELL DOWN

Number 2: you obviously have a computer, so I'd assume there's a phone nearby, too. Call HER mom, your Mom, or someone else to help. If nobody's available, dial 9-1-1. I bet they know what to do. Using the computer won't help you much, in a situation like this.

Number 3: A week-and-a-half early is not alarmingly early. If this is your GF's first child, you likely have several hours---maybe days, in fact--before the baby is born. Keep your head.

I wish you the best...Mazel Tov!
