Just so they can say "Madagascar" over and over again. Go ahead.....say it......Madagascar. Doesn't it sound cool? So after a while when their friends hear it......they sound very uber important. The only other animal that could make them sound half as important would be the Zimbabwian crustacean. And well.......they are hard to feed. *wink*

My daughter's 7 year old friend has one. She's fascinated by bugs of all sorts. It's actually kind of a nice critter.

I guess that they are indigenous and cheap. Not very cuddly though.
We keep cats and dogs.Some people would call us extravagant for this behavior.

I saw on TV where they are actually painting them and putting little plastic jewels on them. As Fashion Accessories!!! I don't think so!!
