I have a 2000 explorer and it is really simple. There are two screws on the outside cover. Take them out and pull the whole assembly off. It will sound like you are breaking something. It scared me to death the first time I did it. Dont pull too hard because, of course, the wires are all attached. Once you get it off twist the part that holds the bulb about half a turn and that part will come out. Pull the bulb out and replace it and put everything back the way you took it apart. Hope that helps.

there is a back panel that needs to be pulled off then you have to match up the bulbs but mind the tabs on the panel they are very fragile and will break if done incorrectly. of course doing it yourselse will be <$ but if you break the tabs on the panel then you have to take it in and replace the whole panel which means >$ good luck try the Ford dealer It's about 18.00 to change a bulb w/out tax.

Try looking inside where the hatch back is and see if there a
panel where you can get to it. It should be easy. Pull out the
plug, take out old part and replace new bulb. I know cause my
car I have to get into the trunk and pull the plug out just renew
bulb

No screws around where you can remove the lense? that's the ordinary way to do it. However; if it's inside the vehicle access, you'd still have some method of getting to the bulb sockets. Check with Advance Auto Parts, or whatever you have close by.
