without having to replace the stupid thing? I have a crack just down from the side where it levels out into the tub. I have tried silicone/acrylic caulk and it only lasts about 24 hours. I am trying to sell this property and cannot afford to replace a tub. Any SERIOUS SUGGESTIONS WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

I agree with Chuckufarley in that a cracked bathtub will make your house difficult at best to sell, and will get you a law suit if the new owner gets hurt because of it.

However, IF you insist on not replacing the tub, you might take a look at epoxy sealant.

I would tell the Realtor that there is a crack in the tub.I think your tub is cast iron, and the alone way to fix that is put another one in.U can buy a refurbished one cheap. But it sound to me that you don't want to put ant more money into. All ask the Realtor how much will come of the asking price if you tell her,Because the new owner will notice.

Well, seriously, if you do manage to sell the house, and the buyer doesn't catch the crack, when they fall through the tub, they will, most likely, sue your socks off, sooo, a tub would be much cheaper than that.

The above site may be helpful to you. If you can't fix or replace it you should let the people who are buying it that it may need to be reap laced and compensate them for the cost of replacing it at the closing of the sale
