It is a skill that takes a lot of practice - controlling or tapering your emotions when they are flooding you, like in instances of great anger, frustration, love (which is ok, unless it is troublesome, like unrequited love) and the like. Start being honest with yourself & others about your feelings. Try to share them "in the moment" - don't bottle things up. The longer you hold on to them, the easier it is for things to "go over the top." I think people will respect your honesty & integrity, if you let them know that you are aware that you have this problem, and are working toward containing it better. Honesty is the best policy -- so just start sharing, in the moment. I think you'll find that the tendency to act on the feelings are going to subside big time. I wish you well, good luck!

Lastly, you act according to your values.
