Are we being selfish (I found this life lesson myself, so you should have to as well)?

It seems in today's world everyone it out for themselves and are afraid to. They do not want to share and risk someone getting ahead of them. It is unfortunate because this is how much of tradition and knowledge is passed on.

People fail to share their wisdom with others for the fear of condemnation. I share with my children all of the time in hopes they do not repeat the same mistakes I did. If anyone asks I would be glad to respond. The one thing I do is ask for the Lord's guidance before ever getting on this site. Hopefully I will be able to answer that one question that makes the greatest difference in someones life. Give them an explanation to the littlest thing that is the greatest to them at the moment. I am a very open minded person and willing to do this.

I would suppose that if one doesn't share, they are being self-centered and selfish. I believe in sharing knowledge and wisdom with others. It is the right thing to do.

Not a lot of people feel confident in their ability to express. They don't understand the value of their opinions and ideas, and because of that, they keep to themselves. They might also be afraid that they will be criticized, embarrassed, or ignored. The best thing to do is to encourage open communication, encourage their value as a person, and listen, appreciate, and respond when they do choose to express.

Because when people try to share their knowledge, they are shot down by the uneducated. Most people aren't willing to learn.
