If you are a parent do you check your kid's site?

My kids are grown so I don't have to worry about that anymore. But, here in Yahoo answers, I can't believe some of the things the kids say and who they give information to. I have answered many of them just to tell them to be careful who they are talking to. I have also reported people that I think are in here looking for kids. I even go to 360 pages if I think they are adults looking for kids. I think parent's need to pay a lot more attention to what kids are doing on-line.

I am not a parent, i'm a teenager. I do have a myspace and i did get it without their permission. HOWEVER everyone on my friends list is someone i've met in person with my own 2 eyes and have known them longer then a month, some of the people on there are bands that i like. Most people can't trust their kids. They go on these sites and see profiles of attractive people and then agree to go meet those poor disgraces of humans and then get killed or raped or both. Parents always have the right to check your site. You shouldn't ever post personal things about yourself on those websites, because you really don't know who's looking at them. My parents saw my page after they heard about all the girls getting abducted and/or meeting people and they are content with the the information on my page. Your parents want nothing more then to keep you safe and most kid's don't agree but in the end the parents have every right to do what they can to make sure their kid's are safe.

My kids don't have myspace sites because they are 27 months and 15 months. A lot of parents are too stupid to get involved in everything their kids are doing. I have heard of some parents not allowing their child to have a myspace unless the child adds their parent as a friend.

Yep, I check our daughers site weekly. I walk in when she's emailing to her friends. We discuss what can and can not be shown on the site. If one of her friend (whom I know) has a photo that I don't approve of I have my daughter tell her, and usually the photo is taken off the site.

Our daughter actually wants me to see her site, and I always stress right from wrong.

Our daugher is under 16, but as long as I keep note of who she emails I'm okay with it.

I'm not a parent but I do have one as a teenager. The thing is my mom knows I'm not dumb and trusts me. I mean I don't post and personal information and I'm smart enough not go meet someone offline. And plus my mom is couldn't use the internet if she tried,
