Each person who lost a family member can commit one act of torture on Osama, except death. Then when/if he heals from the injuries, they can do it again. And after he recovers from that, a third time, and so on. It can be videotaped and and then the US government takes control of Al Jareeza tv network, and shows it on tv to the wannabe bin Ladens. And, it will be required viewing for any Muslim entering wanting to enter the USA.

I agree with most of the answers I read here. It is a tough question. What is the appropriate punishment for people who kill thousands? Can we as humans ever give it?
Maybe the best punishment would be for these people to live long enough to be rejected by human kinds as being evil, and shunned. IF there is an afterlife, then I hope they are made to realized they were wrong.
Great question!

osama bin laden is dead.... he had sclerosis of the liver (sp?) way before 9/11, and he was on kidney dialisys before that. if he was hiding out in the caves, he would be long dead by now. also, the terrorists that commited the atrocities of 9/11 should be burned to death at a public showing... maybe less ppl would want to kill others

I think they should be locked away in the toughest prison in the world. After all, if we killed them it would only make them martyrs - making the ultimate sacrifice for Allah in their so-called jihad. Put them in the cell with hard-line criminals who are still so patriotic they salute the flags on t-shirts. I would also add that we should take away their ability to pray to Allah 6 times a day, but that would be considered cruel and unusual punishment.

MAN THAT'S A TOUGH ONE!! THE DEATH PENALTY IS A GREAT PUNISHMENT FOR THIS CRIME, BUT THAT IS WHAT THEY WANT--TO BECOME MARTYRS FOR THE CAUSE AND THEN THEIR FOLLOWERS HAVE MORE REASONS TO HATE US. LIFE IN PRISON IS A LUCKY BREAK, THEY GET 3 HOTS AND A COT, TV, RADIO, INTERNET PRIVILEDGES, AND NOT TO PUT SALT ON OUR WOUNDS BUT WE WOULD BE PAYING TO KEEP THEM ALIVE AND PROTECT THEM WHILE THEY'RE IN PRISON. I DON'T THINK THAT THERE HAS BEEN AN APPROPRIATE PUNISHMENT INVENTED YET FOR THE PEOPLE INVOLVED IN 9/11.

I think they should be beaten too death with ball bats with rusty nails sticking out of them. Make the death slow and painful. Saddam should meet a simular fate. The bodies should then be buried in shallow graves with pig intestines.

If the US caught Osama Bin Laden, they should tie him in a missile and fire it to his followers (Al Qaida) mountains in Afghanistan.
