Depends on the type of fish. Most tropicals like 78 degrees. Some tolerate temperatures as low as 72.

I have Discus fish, they need a higher temp of 82 to 84 degrees and can tolerate up to about 87 if they are sick. I also have a gourami and some neon tetras in the tank so I don't let it get above 83.

You need to let the tank cycle for at least 2 weeks before you put any fish in it. If you put fish in right away they will die. I recommend starting out the tank at 78 to let the beneficial bacteria build up, then you can change the temp (if needed) to accomodate the fish you choose. When you purchase your fish, they can tell you what temperature that type of fish should be kept in. They can also tell you what is the best type of food, etc.

I feed my Discus brine shrimp in the afternoon and bloodworms in the evening. I buy frozen most of the time and once in a while get them live food as a treat.

Good luck!

It depends on the type of fish you intend to have. Tropical fish do best at 75-78 degrees; freshwater prefer 70-74. Anything more exotic on either end of the spectrum (i.e., species that live in extreme habits) probably merits more research.

Good luck.

It depends on the kind of fish you have or are planning on getting. As a rule, freshwater fish thrive on temps between 70-75F and saltwater around 80F. Goldfish do better in slightly cooler water than most other fish (around 68F).

again, it all depends on the type of fish you are keeping. fro example, for goldfish, it doesnt matter, room temp is fine. tropical fish require more specific temps though. if you are not sure what kind of fish you are going to get, then youre best bet is to try to keep it between 75 and 80 F. you can always adjust the temp according to what kind of fish you decide to get.
