sony, expensive and bad service, very cool design.
IBM, the most expensive brand, very secure system, figerprint login, ugly case.
Apple, best for graphic design.

Well, if you're getting Vista, make sure you have at least 1GB (that's Microsoft's requirement) and if possible, a DX9-compatible card.

I suggest you wait until Vista to come out if you're planning to upgrade to it. Not only will faster components be cheaper by then, but it will asure compatibility.

alienware online has the sexiest designs on the planet and don't compromise on performance, im also in love with Dell XPS m2010 - but only for looks - alienware is an all rounder - however expensive - have to compromise somewhere - there comes a time when you can only have the best when money is no option.

The brand doesn't matter. You have to look at performance, storage size, screen size, and compare prices.

I like my dell xps2....although its probably to overloaded with features
that I never even use for the price zi paid

They are all actually pretty solid nowadays. I have a compaq laptop and its great. I'd stay away from Dell... too much pre-loaded crap.

my husband loves computers he builds desk top computers but got me a laptop for christmas it is a HP but that is about all I know about it he likes it because it can do everything and works well for his gamming World of Warcraft.
