I only like tattoos on the lower back if they are part of or in the stages of forming a back piece, like mine ,I have a full back piece from shoulders down to the base of my back.Unfortunatley, lower back tattoos do look like the common sort of 'tramp stamp' or 'panty art' if they are on their own, that seems to be the fashion at the moment, and I don't actually like the idea of caligraphy or stylised writing on lower the back, the wording obviously means a lot to you and I think that if it's relevant to a certain point in your life or that it has a meaning to you then yes go ahead and get it done, maybe on another part of your body though and I would advise going to see a tattooist to come up a really good design to incorporate the wording into for you so it won't be then the typical script writing that sooo many people have now.

How about not getting one? Tattoos on girls are disgusting and white trash looking.

No matter what you get, you're going to end up regretting it when you're older. Everyone has a tattoo on their lower back or their ankle or their shoulderblade...you're not doing anything original or unique by getting a tattoo. All you're going to do is end up looking like a trashy skank.

There are several tattoo sites online, just do a search and you will find thousands of ideas. I love tattoos and have several but I would caution you to be sure you use a reputable artist/shop. If you live in a state where tattoo artists have to be licensed make sure they actually are before using them.

Good luck in your search and be sure to follow all of your after care instructions!

Don't get something stupid and cliche, you already listed tribal tattoos, that's good. Butterfly/flower ensembles are really dumb too.

sorry, no ideas... but i just want to let you know that thats one of the most painful places to get a tattoo... there isn't a lot of fat, so its a lot closer to the bone and nerves. just a friendly warning.

just make sure it means something to you, rather than just pretty, because then at least it will mean something to you forever. I have a friend who got a celtic tattoo when her Irish Grandma died...then she can remember her.
