I am making hamburgers for ourtwo kids and company with kids and my wife says by adding 1 tablespoon of fresh dill and 1 tablespoon of fresh basil i have ruined the burgers for the kids and no one will eat. I go to resolve the problem by washing the meat and rinsing the spices off and she yells at me and says I am wasting eggs. Please help me to resolve this I dont want to argue and it seems there is nothing i can do to make her happy with the results.

Welcome to married life. Man you should know by now that you can not win when it comes to a woman. First off those burgers would have probably been perfect but you will never know because you washed the spices off of it. That alone seems pretty ridiculous. Second just like every other woman out there that has a ring on her finger, she is never wrong and your just a big idiot. Learn to live with it. Of course I'm divorced and no one is raising "Cain" about spices on the hamburger meat when I'm fixing to grill and I don't recall anyone nagging over my shoulder about wasting eggs. Either learn to enjoy the subtle sounds of her crowing in your ear or jump back over to the bachelor side of life. Heck they both are great and suck in their own special ways.

I don't think it's the burgers alone... she is venting at you for other frustrations or worries she isn't sharing or acknowleding. The best advice I can offer is for you to let her know that you are sorry about the meat, and that you were trying your best to prepare a meal for everyone, but sometimes things happen...lol like dill in a hamburger... ( just add some worscheshire sauce and it should even out the twang of the dill..) After the company leaves tonight, sit down with her and ask her what is really wrong and if she says nothing, then just tell her when she is ready to talk about it, you will be there to listen. I wish the two of you all the luck in the world.. Shalom.

She may be upset about something else , I know how easy it could be to storm out or fire back a comment at this point , bite your tongue and stay , and ask in the most calm voice you can find , does she think there is any way you could fix it ? if not ask if you could propose and idea or two (like washing it off), if not tell her you are sorry for not thinking about how picky the children are . Then ask her how her day was otherwise (and LISTEN dont pretend listen, look at her face and listen, dont input just listen ) and when she is done kiss her the way that makes her feel most loved .

Turn the cooking over to your wife, grab a cold beer and go socialize with the company, maybe even flirt with the other woman if she's kinda cute. Ask your wife to call you when the burgers are done and by the way, could you bring me another beer honey?

Yikes. I've had days like that. Where I pick on my husband for no reason. God bless him, he just ignores me. She's in a bad mood. Maybe she's hungry. Tell her to have a snack. To totally defuse the situation, give her a compliment. That's got to be hard though when you're ticked at her. Good Luck!

It pretty much sounds like she is very controlling and demanding. Just tell her to calm down. If money is the real issue (wasting eggs) then you guys need to stop buying junk food, beer and cigarettes.

tell her just that...say "Is there Nothing i can do to make you happy?".....Hopefully she'll realize how unreasonable she has been. If she starts an argument and starts yelling...just reach out for a hug with a big smile (that'll give her a scare and break the negative mood)lol
