Alex Rodriguez has more years played, and so he is most likely to keep up his performance.

He is the youngest player to ever hit 450 home runs.

As Albert Pujols is in only his 6th season in the majors, Rodriguez earns the right to be declared the most likely of the three to belt more than 600 home runs.

Dunn is also in his 6th year (a fact which maintains Rodriguez's likihood of hitting the most home runs), and also has a career AVG. nearly .060 lower than both Rodriguez and Pujols.

It's a much better bet to go with a player who has already hit 450 home runs than to go with two players who have yet to hit 250.

Since A-Rod already has over 400 career homers, logically he would have the best shot at breaking Aaron's record as long as he stays healthy. Pujols though, is well on pace to shatter the career homerun mark. He is the only player in baseball history to start his career with 30+ homers, 100+ RBI's, 100+ runs, and hit over .300 in his first 5 years, and he's already knocked over 30 homers this year, and he also doesn't strike out much, unlike Dunn and A-Rod. Pujols was slowed down with a pulled ab muscle for 2 weeks, but he has picked up where he left off. As I see it, Pujols will shatter Aaron's career home run record and be the best home run hitter of all time.

If you were paying any attention to baseball as of late Alex Rodriguez is the youngest player ever to reach 450 home runs, and he also has 2000 hits to go with the home runs. First you can not put Dunn's name in the mix until he has had 5 more season's under his belt, there are many others who have a lot more home-runs than Dunn. But if i had to take my pick i would say a-rod has a shot to break the record, and Albert will be right behind him.

Pujols has a much better chance than Dunn. Career numbers so far:

Pujols: 232 Home Runs with a .629 Slugging Percentage.

Dunn: 188 HR's with a .522 SP.

A-Rod probably has the best chance of anyone though.

A-Rod: 450 Home Runs with a .574 Slugging Percentage.

And if he can somehow stay healthy, don't forget Ken Griffey Jr.

Griffey: 555 HR's with a .559 SP.

ARod, Pujols....and ADAM DUNN?????? Two MVPs, and a guy who gets fooled by wiffle ball pitches? Now granted, when Dunn gets ahold of one, he can hit it further then just about any player in the big leagues, but he strikes out waaaaaaaaaayyyy too much to even be in this conversation. He is only a hairs breath away from being the 21st century Dave Kingman. My money would be on ARod because he has more of a natural uppercut to his swing, whereas Pujols has more of a level swing, and he is also content to hit gappers and drive in runs then swing for the fences.

I've gotta say Pujols. He's more consistent with the swing than
A-Rod and Dunn strikes out too much. It could catch up to him whereas Pujols already has a ton of homers under his belt.

Interesting stuff at Groovy Grabs:

yeah i have no idea what you're thinking with adam dunn but ok.
you gotta remember that pujols is only in his 6th year and he hasn't yet started breaking records (he would've destroyed bonds' single season mark this year....sucks that he hurt his side)a rod just recently became the youngest player to 450 homerruns in about 10 years of major league work. some of these players can play atleast 20 years in the league so theres a great chance that arod will break the all time mark. pujols...well just have to wait and see

Babe Ruth, he hit homers with a dead ball.He also pitched the first part of his career and had great stats. How many more HRs would he have hit.Life time average was over .340.Take into consideration that he traveled by train or bus ,and there was no AC at the time.He also had to play double headers every Sunday and also twilight double headers .There wasn't the conditioning for the players like today. Also he played 152 games compared to to days schedule. In his latter yrs he was over weight and wasn't able to run out infield hits. The Babe will be the man for quit some time.Wish I had seen him play.
