The media have gone well over the top with this.

People are now scared to comfort a child who has fallen
Nursery teachers are now not allowed to take a child onto their knee.

16 year old lads or lasses are branded "sex offenders" if they have intercourse - or even a quick fondle with a member of their peer group who is under 16.(and the parents of one or the other find out)

GET REAL

Reform the law to ensure that only persons who are a serious risk to children - and I mean those who groom and seriously abuse them (not just physically, but in situations of breach of trust) They should be put upon the sex offenders register

The discretion to designate a serious sex offender should be left to the judges - who have a good overview of the situation - they hear enough cases to know.

It should be free from political interference, if someone who commits this sort of act is a danger to children he/she should not be released into the community at all.
They know who they are, and they want to be stopped.

At the present time a better policing of the internet would help -

You could be next!

That is as dumb as ****

Castration, in the first point, would not acctually do anything in terms of sex drive. It only stops the production of Semen. It does not mean our perp would stop going for kids.

One reason that people prey on children is because phsycologically, they feel inferior to adults, but they can feel superior to children. Rehabilitation can help them develop confidence in being with adults and get them back into maiknstream society. This Child predator is the 'pervert' or the misguided one.

The other manifestation of the pervert is one who was abused themselves as children, so they feel it is right thing to do. Again, appropriate support can correct this deviance.

The other type prey on children as they find the child to be sexy, attractive or good looking. Even in Comparism to adults. They are preferential for children. Smooth body, cute face, childlike innocence have all been reasons to have been found in the Unsub. These are paedophiles, and it is more difficult to correct them. Difficult, but not impossible.

Sadly, this society is so driven by the ignorant that they think they know facts like this when they do not. Their mistakes are laughable. These are the type of people who take the law into their hands, beat up innocent people because they think they are right and end up in more trouble.

There was a report on Crimewatch couple months ago about a guy who got beaten up in North Wales by someone who decided this innocent man was a paedo and nearly killed him. The beater got jail for assualt for thinking he was right.

To clarify for you ignorant ones. I am not glorifying paedos or child predators. I am simply stating that most people are so blind and ignorant, they think justice is Black and white, but they never consider why someone did a crime, and what help they might need. The hardest thing to do is to admit you need help.

They should not be allowed out of jail once proven a danger to children. There is no rehabilitation for them. Branding them might seem like a nice idea until someone sues and wins for cruelty.

So let me get this straight. After they have served the sentence society and the courts have imposed upon them, you are proposing a new one? That sounds like double jeopardy... By the way, I hope you are not in charge of the branding--your speeling es atropciaus... After all, branding is forever!!

Pedophiles should be marked with a letter P on media and be publicized so that people will not let children come near them. It is a valid exercise of police power to protect minors.

They would just have a tatoo artist "transform" it into something with less of a stigma attached... and there are real problems with opening that "can of worms" - like where then do we draw the line on your "preventative branding?" Are lifetime arsenists, theives, killers, embezzelers, etc. also "in the works?" And what of habitual drunks who insist on continuing to drive drunk? You get my drift... what applies to one poulation of offenders must apply to all.

i know ......why dont we just enforce the laws we already have on the books... and make stronger laws... to punish these people. and why dont we get more money to educate our children about the dangers.. and to get more security for our children. lets not go back to the old days .. when adulterers..had an" A " branded..on forehead..lets move forward..

Good Idea, But I have always been partial to a facial tattoo on both cheeks saying:

" I rape children"

That should allow them to join a wholesome community, wouldn't you say?

Yes but it would be easier just not to let them out. Make it an offence with a tariff of life.

because its not good enough..and doesnt go far enough.

.I think..after identifying one..he or she [yes..females are guitly of that crime too] should be taken to a deserted island in the "Ring Of Fire" area of the pacific..and left...with VERY modest provisions...and nothing to do..and no kids to abuse..for the rest of their lives.

ALL of them should be taken out of society and left.
