People who follow the rule for legal immigration should be backed; people who sneak over the border should not be backed. Because our (American) government has allowed illegal’s to come here in droves with no real consequences, we have a big mess. Once an illegal has a baby her, that baby is a U.S. citizen with rights; this complicates things. I think that jobs have been taken away from people with a right to be here and given to illegal’s for less than minimum wage. Companies should not be allowed to do that. They should be able to hire legal residents/citizens for at least minimum wage.

I don’t know if you are asking specifically about black support because of the civil rights movement but frankly, blacks have their own issues to be concerned about before even think about the idea of where to stand on the issue of illegal immigrants.

No. It will dilute the strength of the "Black" vote, if there is such a thing as a "Black" vote.

Besides, citizenship is a privilege for immigrants, not a right. And should not be for anyone who entered the country illegally.

If you're talking illegal aliens, NO. They have no rights for citizenship. And what are you talking black people? It's people who think in those terms who create hate and bigotry. Why can't we all just be human beings part of the human race?

why ..this is an american issue.. not black or white or brown or yellow. legal immigrants have been coming into this country forever. it is the illegal immigrants..that is posing problems in the news these days. so what does it have to do with one group or another in the united states. this is not an issue that should divide americans. all americans should stand together.. for legal steps.. not illegal ones.

Black people should back anyone who has a valid claim to citizenship and no more. By the way so should white people, chinese people, korean people, arab people. Fairness is equality and equality is fairness.

This is not a race issue, it is a legal to illegal issue.

Since by and large all races want only legal immigration, they should support everyone to file for legal immigration status

How does skin color in any way affect your question? BTW don't citizenship rights belong to citizens?

If any one person feels that their family were non citizens given a chance, and that those opportunities would be taken away by new laws then I say stand up and let your voice be heard.
