Can an evaporation line appear on a pregnancy test within the 10 minute period?

It may appear at any time-- as soon as the urine hits it, after a few minutes as the test absorbs the moisture, or after the 10-minute time limit. It may appear when the test is drying, or after it has dried. It may disappear as the test is drying, or after the test has dried, or not disappear at all.

If your test says results withing 10 minutes no, but make sure that your test says 10 minutes, most tests read within 3 minutes now. Another way to tell is, if the line you see has some color (pink or blue) then it should be a positive one and if it is kind of gray then it is an evaporation line, an evaporation line is also thinner than the control line, and a positive line will be as thick as the control line even if it is a very faint line. Go check your test and compare these things I have told you about and that should help you figure what that line you saw is. Good luck!!

As others have said, it depends on what the *reading* time for the test is.
Also, another good idication it is an evaporation line is the lack of colour. Normally evap lines have a grey or yellow tinge to them, and contain no colour, although I have heard of others who've had a pinky tinge to them.

Yes. If the line isn't the same shape as the control line, it may not be accurate.

If the line is the same shape & it happened within the first 10 minutes, it's time to start saving for college...
