= fall of the roman empire
I'm not sure if you are serious or fishing. Many great historians argue that the fall of the Roman Empire was due to Constantine uniting church and state; making Christianity the primary rule. What followed was major conflict between Christians and pagans... mostly pagans getting slaughtered for refusing to obide by religious laws.
Like I said, some historians argue this was the underlining cause of Rome's destruction

When the church and state united the repression of other religions begins. Before Christianity caught on in Rome Cristian's were tortured, burned and oppressed. When the roman church started to be prevalent other religious groups were persecuted. This is why eventually the church and state were separated.

Sxc,
Well..to tell the truth young one, Constantine made a deal with the Christians..let's celebrate one event together..Christmas?Or was it make sacrificial smoke to the heathen god Rae or both? Wow! Reveal the veils and see the truth of it all...they wanted to rule the world!! But what a sneaky way to go about it! Compromise or divide and conquer? Woe!! Culturation? Assimulation? They should have followed the vote of three. That would have been simpler!!

It did not, the Romans were very good at "enforcing" thier laws. If anything, Christianity would weaken thier ability to enforce laws, since the brutal methods were not continued all the time.

Not really sure but I think I'm pretty safe in saying it needs to happen to the US. For example, we use the Pledge of allegiance for our country, but we want to omit One Nation Under God, how long before the Creator gets enough and turns His back on us?

That period is otherwise known as the Dark Ages. Religious rule. One thousand years of depression.
