Many pro-choice women, (often feminists) believe men should have no say in the abortion topic, because they have no uterus. Based on this logic, should women have any say in any legal matter pertaining to men since women do not have a man's anatomy?

Why don't pro-choicers understand, the abortion topic isn't about belittling women, its about respecting unborn children?

GREAT point. it is not about taking away a woman's choice, i Am a woman. you are right in protecting the unborn. i just don't understand how pro choicers are against the death penalty as well. if you can kill an innocent baby, but not a child molester or murderer... that's just craziness

It is a very apt question but only a theoretical one flung out just as a jerk reaction. There are hardly any instances of women contesting any matter about male anatomy. As regards the other part of the question creating an impression that nothing is farther away from the minds of pro-choicers than belittling women and that their only concern is about protecting the unborn. They cannot hide behind the unborn . It is the woman who bears the burden for nine months, face all the risks to her health and to her career, the basic responsibility of nurshing the child ,despite all this talk of helps of all kinds available(they are either not available or are beyond the reach of the common woman) if she has no say in the matter much less a man. At least this male attitude may have some justification(only some) in well-to-do societies but in the context of developing world where the burgeoning populations are a bane on development nobody, not even a woman, has any choice in the matter. These matters are dictated by social consideration. Now despite the need for introducing almost compulsory abortion after a specified number of children and divesting families who exceed this norm all social concessions the unchecked resort to do away with female foetuses leading to a severe imbalance in the male to female ration a need has arisen to prohibit such abortions. A beginning has been made by prohibition of pre-birth sex determination but much needs to be done. It is strange to observe that males who normally stand against given women the choice to retain or not retain foetuses almost force her to abort the unborn females.

This is how I look at abortion and pregnancy. The fetus growing inside of the woman is not a viable life during the period of time that a woman could choose to have a abortion. This means that if the woman were to die so would the fetus because it is entirely and completely dependent on the woman. With that said, it is not a child at that point rather it is part of the woman.

Also, abortions are completely and 100% a personal decision. It should be discussed between the man, woman, and doctor. However, ultimately a woman has the final say and if she does not want to use her body to grow a baby then it is her choice. I understand that she could give that baby up for adoption is she did not want it however that is her choice to make. A pregnancy effects a woman's life and if her goal is to finish school or gain more work experience than that pregnancy could negatively effect many aspects of her life. Isn't a life that has been around for 20 or so years just as important?

You made a point of how woman shouldn't have any legal rights pertaining to man's anatomy. I would like to understand specifically where this has occured. Women do not have a right to tell a man what he should or should not do. Your body is your body and it is your decision and only your decision to care for it.

Although I am pro-choice, I do not advocate careless sexual practices. I feel that many women in our society are not well informed about safety precausions regarding sex. Saying to young woman "just say no to sex" is not sufficient preparation for the real world. Teach young woman about contraceptives, condoms, stds, etc. that way they won't be 16 and trying to decide between being a teenage mom, having an abortion, or putting a baby up for adoption.

It saddens me when women put down, harrass, and insult other women's choices. We should be supporting and educating women so we grow strong and tall!

Food for thought--What would our society look like if every child was wanted and planned?

Nice rip off of my "Got a Uterus?" question- if my logic was so terribly flawed why are you trying to apply it to another topic??

Since when has society dictated what a man can or can't do with his body? Never. There are no laws on the books stating that men can't get abortions since men can't get pregnant. If men could get pregnant then abortion would be fairly common and there would be no shame attached to it.

Pro-choice individuals understand that the importance of the choice is that a person can make the decision for themselves~ it is about being able to choose.

You can stop now with the respecting unborn children bit as you clearly do not respect those women that were "born" and are now grown into adulthood. Based on your logic, you are being hypocritical in your reasoning.

And so what if I am a feminist? You type that like it is a bad thing or some sort of character flaw. You don't know me, you don't know my life. You make the best choices for you and I will make the best choices for me. And if you disagree with abortion, then choose to never have one! Don't force your choices on others.

don't know but it seems kind of funny that any woman stupid enough to have an abortion is going to have serious health problems like uterine cancer or ovarian cancer sorry ladies but it's the truth. God is punishing you for murder. have a nice day.

Sad attempt at a rebuttal, but I'll take the two points.
