The previous answerer is correct. All these issues are interlinked. The vegan movement is very much tied up with organic farming and ensuring a lesser impact on the environment. Due to most Vegans not only being concerned with animal welfare but also human welfare, Fairtrade produce is also high on the list for most of us.
I am in the unfortunate position of not being able to afford to follow all my principles, so can not always buy Organic food. I do, however stretch to Fair Trade teas, coffee and bananas, and buy brittish fruit and veg in season, from a local farmer's market wherever possible.
I feel it's very, very important for all three of these subjects to be brought to the forefront of everyone's minds so that everyone can make a difference and help make poverty history.

these subjects are all interlinked, when you have idiots writing that they want walmart to force down the price of organic then that isnt fair trade, and buying from super markets is so not green, they clock up ridiculous food miles, how can you expect to buy fair trade goods when the seller is only onterested in profit and not for the primary producer. when i sell products into the food chain they contain no additives yet when you pick up say a packet of frozen peas they have. read what you buy and point your finger in the right direction,

I would say vegetarianism as most people are aware of it.
I know for sure that may parents would know nothing about fair trade, organic stuff is too expensive & people are still ignoring the need to recycle.
There are a lot of issues to discuss about being a vegetarian i.e. why? what do you miss? what CAN you eat etc.

I think they all have there values apart from vegetarianism which I think is a fad.
But of all I think the most important is Fair Trade.
However, am I going to have a problem if farmers in Africa in the Fair Trade areas whip and overwork there donkeys and start to use fertiliser from agro chem co.
Hmmm its all an issue isn't it?

Organic because Wal-Mart is selling it now. It is becoming main stream. Now if Wal-Mart can use their massive supply chain to drive down the cost of organic goods, we can all enjoy them for a low price.
