SHOES.... i am surprised that no one has suggested that.
Shoes are most important, in fact many people judge someone on a first impression before they even open their mouth by what shoes they have on. (frankly people like that can kiss mine) but hey... I'm just stating my general thoughts.
nice clean shoes, wether they cost $10 or $1000, it does not really make a difference if they are shoes you like, they will usually put you in a better mood, make you walk taller and straighter... which in turn makes you appear thinner and more approachable. man i love a good pair of shoes.
